It's almost March. Time to change gears and think about summer in Glacier Park. I have received a lot of inquiries about the remodeling efforts at The Many Glacier Hotel and how this affects summer lodging and my evening shows. Well, like the old saying goes, "The show must go on!" - and it is no different in Many Glacier.
I will start my performances this year on June 17 and run through September 12. Every Monday - Saturday at 9:00 pm, downstairs in the St. Moritz Room. Hopefully my stage will still be intact, but if not, we will make it work and I promise an evening of wonderful Montana music and imagery to share with you while you visit Many Glacier. Tickets remain at $8.00 per person which is still one of the greatest deals in the Park, if I do say so. You can purchase them either at the door or in advance from my friends at GPI, Central Reservations 406.892.2525

For some reasons I've been creating these really cool and melodic kid songs in my head. My kids love them, in fact, my little girl Jadi had me sing to her first grade class just so she could have her friends hear them. Like I've said before, I don't know where all my songs come from, they just sort of start coming out. Sometimes the lyrics come before the melody, other times I have this cool guitar lick but no lyrics to guide them. Either way, the melody & words usually find a way to fit together and out pops a song.
Someone once told me that those little musical diddies that just repeat over and over in your head, like the Batman theme or Gilligan's Island, they are called Ear Worms. I like that.
We'll I've been having several worms squirming around my head lately. Now that I'm back in the Fish, I thought the best way to get them out of my head was to record them. So over the next few days, I'm going to sit out in my studio and put a guitar & [...]

So I'm not such a consistent blogger. I guess I'd rather put the words in lyrics - which drives me to my next point.
I've been able , despite all the cabin construction, to write a few more tunes. I never have any intention to where these songs go, I just sort of let them come out the way they want. But I found myself writing kids songs. Maybe because I was missing my kids like crazy, who knows, but these songs about frogs, bears, Chicken Head Joe, dreams - wow! I must need to write a kids album. Maybe have a kids book along with my music. Now that would be cool.
I packed up the Mallard ( 24' travel trailer - home away from home ) hitched it to the back of the pick up, headed over the pass to the west and arrived home to Whitefish.
It's been a good summer. I am looking forward to winter spent home with family. And who knows, maybe I'll finish the kids CD & post it to the web site. Keep looking for it.
See ya'll on the trail- [...]

I just never tire of the views around here. I stopped here and took this photo right outside Glacier Park. The clouds were wrapped around this peak then flowing past it to the next. I may not be the richest man in the world but there are days where I feel like it.
I just had the most beautiful drive into work last night. We have a family of foxes that live up the road from the lodge. These guys are hard to see but every once in a while they come out of hiding and let me know they are still around. I love these kinds of neighbors. And my wife's maiden name is Fox, so it's like we are all family around here.
